The Virgins of AU Interview: “God’s Plan Is Laid Out for Us, and We Shall Follow as He Sees Fit”

In recent years, we’ve seen the fast-growing prevalence of sex-positivity posts on social media by “zoomers.” 2020 saw the explosive rise of the popular photo and video sharing site OnlyFans, and it seems as if every day there is a new trend or challenge about “Bussing it” making its way across TikTok. In this age of sexual openness, The Rival wanted to explore the opposition to this new wave of promiscuity.

We sat down and got an exclusive interview with the leaders of the American University Virgin Club (@virginsofau on Instagram), who has an Instagram audience of nearly 2,000 people and has taken great strides to spread the message of God and promote celibacy. First posting in March of 2021, the Virgins of AU touted traditional values of purity and protecting your virginity against the temptations found at American University.

We asked the Virgins of AU a few questions about their account, how to protect yourself from the devil and his advocates, and were able to get a glimpse into the future of this ever-growing account. Check it out!

First off, what inspired you to create this account?

Celibacy is the way of the Lord, and we are here to spread His Holy gospel.

What advice would you give to students who wish to protect themselves from losing their virginity? 

Our biggest advice would be to not give in to peer pressure. At a school like AU, there are many impure people and you must be strong enough to not stray from God’s message. Choose to surround yourself with people who you know share the same values. For example, every member of Pi Kappa Alpha, (colloquially known as Pike) are devout virgins. Surrounding oneself with a nice group of God-loving people is the best bet for staying celibate.

In recent months, we’ve seen the resurgence of trends that help people avoid straying from God. What are your thoughts on things like the Butthole Loophole and “soaking”?

We here at Virgins of AU condemn the “Butthole Loophole” and “soaking” of all types. Trying to find a loophole to the rules instead of following them blindly is a disgusting sin. God's plan is laid out for us, and we shall follow as he sees fit.

What is, in your eyes and in the eyes of God, the ideal virgin specimen?

Justin Coleman, owner of @stoolamerican, in our eyes is the perfect virgin specimen. We can tell by the way he posts and responds to comments that he has obviously never touched a woman in his life, by choice or not.

Virgins across AU have noticed your absence. In our hour of need, how could you leave us?

We here at Virgins of AU spend as much time as we are able spreading the word of God, however, we, just like everyone else, have classwork and many hours of prayers a day. We are now planning a triumphant return and we actually are looking to release merch when we hit 2,000 followers.

American University’s very own Virgin Club has returned to spread the virgin gospel to their fellow Eagles. It’s been a dark time without their guidance, but hopefully, they have returned for good to stop sexual deviancy and sin from infecting our campus. We’re sure that we speak for the countless numbers of virgins on campus when we say that we are glad to see them grace our Instagram feed once more.
